Very True, a hobby is a good coping skill for depression, or many other disorders. Scrap-booking and writing are great tools yet, they are isolation coping skills... One thing you can add to do, and the thought about doing it is sometimes dreadful, yet IF, you have the straight to try to get out of the house. Go for a walk. Studies show that exercising & sunlight can help depression. And for a power boost, try help others... How? Volunteering is a good way to start... there are lots of way and when your out of the darkness, and I do hope soon your are that is the time to make a plan and build a library of coping tools you can reach into upon you return to those "dark moments".
